Mastication & Brush Clearing - Using our low-impact machinery we can cut and masticate small trees and large brush (manzanita, buckbrush, blackberry) into a layer of moisture retaining mulch. Limbing & Thinning Ground Crews - Tree limbing and thinning by hand serves a variety of situations. Limbing up trees for fuel ladder reduction as well as view enhancement. Tree thinning accomplishes fuel load separation, view enhancement and improved forest health. WLR's Fire Protection - Safety is our main concern during wild fire season! At the onset of the wild fire season, WLR mobilizes our fire attack unit. This unit has 325 gallon water tank mounted on a 1-ton four wheel drive truck, and a California Department of Forestry rated 'attack' water pump. This rig is designed to attack a fire immediately, as opposed to trailer mounted units or larger water trucks, which are typically designed to 'defend' structures or areas.
